Interesting idea, I think it would be hard to get it to work nicely on all
sites though.

If there only are a few places where you want to avoid image conversion
then consider using the rabbit.filter.DontFilterFilter to stop image
filtering.

Well, you can easily see that the image _may_ have alpha, finding out
exactly how/if it is used may be a bit harder though.
If you have some time to look at it, then please tell us of the results.
